  • First Year …New Year… Party and Say Thanks to Constituents – A reception to thank Councilmember Brown’s Constituents for all their support throughout the year.

  • “Creative Economy and Emerging Small Business Summit II: Challenges and Opportunities” – An event designed to highlight the importance of the creative and emerging businesses in the District of Columbia and provide owners with information and resources to excel in the local business market through a series of workshops.

  • Brown Blueprint for Employment Success Job Initiative – Job Acquisition Fairs – These events held in the spring and fall were designed to provide employment opportunities and offer job counseling, trade apprenticeships, and self employment opportunities. Job Readiness Workshop Fair- A series of workshops designed to prepare District residents to enter the workforce and strengthen their job skills.

  • Bebe Moore Campbell Minority Health Month – Activities included a Press Conference to declare July as Bebe Moore Minority Health Awareness Month in the District; a Mini Resources Fair to exhibit DC government health agencies and provide information for attendees about mental health; Bebe Moore Campbell DC National Minority Mental Health Awareness Sunday Community Forum, a day faith-based leaders throughout the District emphasized the importance of mental illness awareness; Minority Health Awareness Month Community Forum, a public forum that discussed mental illness, its challenges, treatment options and needed advocacy.

  • 2nd Annual “Say Thanks” Fall BBQ – An event designed to show constituents they are appreciated by providing them with free food and give-aways.

  • Food and Friends Thanksgiving Community Service Activity – Councilmember Brown’s staff stuffed thanksgiving baskets that were delivered to area residents that suffer from cancer and HIV-AIDS.
